About

About solaero

solaero is a sunglasses brand from Berlin, founded in 2026 by Dominic Tirschmann and Timothy Spezia during their own ATPL training. None of their sunglasses were built for the cockpit: the temples were too wide and too stiff and pressed under the headset. So they developed their own, with the same standard aviation applies to everything else: every gram calculated, every material tested.

The collection spans six models, from the classic teardrop to the browline, in beta-titanium or acetate with a titanium core, weighing between 17 and 23 grams. The lenses are UV400, filter category 3 to EN ISO 12312-1, and deliberately non-polarised, so instruments and screens stay readable, in line with FAA and UK CAA guidance for pilots. Every pair comes with an aluminium case, cleaning cloth and booklet. Made for Pilots. Built by Pilots.
